I Need You (That's the Best Part)
You rescued me from a broken heart.
That’s the good part.
The bad part is I’ve never said
How much I needed you.
So many opportunities
Have come and gone away
Before I miss another chance,
I really need to say.
I need you
More than morning needs a sunrise,
More than wheat fields need a gentle breeze,
And growin’ things need rain.
I need you
Like a year needs the seasons
And the best part is believin’ that you
Need me too
You always say what's on your mind
That’s the glad part.
The sad part is I’m helpless,
When words are hard to find.
Like the time you said you needed me
And I just said ...me too.
Now I feel a little shallow.
Because “me too” just won’t do.
I need you
More than roses need the springtime
More than children need a summer’s day
And Christmas needs some snow
I need you
Like a year needs the seasons
And the best part is believin’ that you
Need me too.
I need to be near to you
That’s the best part.
The best part of our time alone
Is knowin’ you need me.
When I grow up I want to be
Sensitive like you.
‘Cause you are all the reasons why
I feel the way I do, feel the way I do.
I need you
More than stars need the heavens,
More than a road needs a place to go,
And a river needs to run
I need you
Like a year needs the seasons
And the best part is believin’ that you
Need me too.
I need you.
