Back to My Younger Days

There is a time deep in my mind
I think of now and then
Where high school  games and summer flames
Were won and lost back when
Mustangs thundered down the road
Hungry horses, high octane

Oh how I wish I could go
Back to my younger days
Back to my younger days

She set my younger nights a-blaze
Off the dirt road where we parked
Bob Seger on the radio
Learning Night Moves in the dark
If only I could find the place
Before college turned the page

Oh how I wish I could go
Back to my younger days
Back to my younger days
Beyond the haze I see my yesterdays
Where the sky is blue and fields are always green
Somewhere between my spring and autumn ways
She runs to me in a summer's dream
Forever seventeen

I wish that I could still recall
All the other times I should
Ain’t it funny how the years replace
The bad days with the good
There's comfort in my memories
They take me home again

Oh how I wish I could go
Back to my younger days
Back to my younger days
Back to my younger days
Back to my younger day
